Tri Fit

Tri Fit training started last week, so the countdown begins! We have eleven weeks left and I am excited & scared. This is WAY out of my comfort zone, but it will be a great challenge for me mentally and physically. I signed up for Grace & Physique (I have to parade myself across a stage in a bikini-yikes!), obstacle course (including a 10 foot wall that I have to climb using a rope), shuttle run (remember doing that in PE with the bean bags?), box jumps (20 inch tall box) and bench press!

I am working out 6 days a week minimum. Monday- Friday are my normal crossfit workout days and M W F will be additional training days for the challenge. Since my crossfit workouts start at 8:30 I am going to run (with friends) in between my normal workout and tri fit training those three days. I need to be a calorie burning machine!

For the bench press competition you bench 60% of your weight, so in order to bench 70lbs I need to weigh 120 lbs. That means that I need to drop weight. I don't think I've weight 120 lbs. since high school, but I'm going to do it! Bench press is a huge part of your overall score, so I really want to kill this event.

Nicole (awesome trainer) has challenged us to a 30 day food challenge, which will include peanut butter, protein powder and oat bran among many other healthy foods- thank God! I am going to jump on that bandwagon and start working towards my goal. I definitely want to get rid of 10 lbs. and then I will worry about the remaining few closer to competition time. So, it's all about watching my intake, burning calories and getting stronger!

Good news- Nicole has decided to build a 10 foot wall, so we can all practice on the real deal. That is a huge relief to me! That is the only part of the obstacle course I am concerned about. It is all tough believe me, but I know I can do the rest.

One more thing, starting crossfit and meeting all of these wonderful women has changed my life. We cheer & encourage each other everyday and it is uplifting! Sometimes we cry, yell and want to just walk out of the gym, but we continue to work hard because it feels good. It feels good to challenge your body and grow stronger! It feels good to throw weights around when you are having a rough morning. I love it!!!
